Hello,
I am studying level crossings at the moment and would like to know where I can read up on the design criteria for them. I am looking at things like what criteria constitutes Full or half or no barriers.
Either an attached document or reference I could search for would be good.
Thanks
Ken
Thanks for the info Peter,
I found RT7011 in the withdrawn documentation section of the RSSB site, it says it was withdrawn Aug 2006. but the notes did not say what had replaced it only a committee was looking into it. Does anyone know what has replaced it? A scan through the website didn't seem to show anything.
I am specifically trying to answer what evidence would need to be gathered to justfy not putting barriers on to a single line level crossing?
Regards

Also from the RSSB's website you can download the Railway Group Standards- may not be quite what you are looking for but worth getting GI/RT7011 and the associated GI/GN7611 Provision, Risk Assessment and Review of Level Crossings and also GI/RT7012 and its associated GI/GN7612 that gives some Miscellaneous Requirements..........
Not in at work at present but RSSB often withdraw documentation and it passes to NR responsibility so relating to content still can really go by withdrawn info to all intents and purposes.
Basically AOCLs are being replaced by ABCLs so really it the AHBCs that can still be used; all to do with road profile, lack of block back risk re traffic jams, wide enough road etc
