Hello,

Is there possible to run a Study Group ( Module 2 and 3) in York?

Certainly York is one of the places which should be able to sustain a Study Group; I have heard that there are some in Siemens who are contemplating and I think there are some graduates of a few years standing within Alstom and of course there are several other signalling companies in the area.
There is not one listed for 2016 but there has been in recent years, although quite how large / active it was I am not sure.

I hope you'll be able to set one up; suggest it might be a good idea to attend an IRSE section meeting [next one looks to be 14th Dec at York Rail Operating Centre] if you don't get a response to this post.

If you are thinking about the exam for 2017 you'll need to be finding an MIRSE/FIRSE to act as your sponsor; they themselves will probably have a network that might identify other people interested.

I have communicated with Rebecca Radnage (Siemens Design Engineer) and she is intending to start up a group for 2017 with about half a dozen interested and yes potentially open to those from other companies.
It is looking likely, completely by coincidence, that I will myself be in York on Thurs 5th Jan when I would otherwise have run a Study session at Chippenham and we are just looking at the possibility of my running an introductory session in York on that day, connecting to my Chippenham group via "Live Meeting".  If so it would be held within the Siemens York office from 16:00 until 18:00.

Rebecca has yet to register on this site (but she says she will in the New Year).
Let me know if interested in attending; final details will be arranged on 3rd Jan I expect.
