Hi Guys

First of all, great thanks to PJW, Peter, Reuben, Dorothy and etc for your kindly help and patient.

I got some luck with Mod2 distinction and Mod 3 Pass.

Very happy after I know the result.

Best regards
Arnut

Anut,

That is absolutely excellent; well done!

Not only is it good for you but actually good for the IRSE as well; the history of those from your part of the world previously has unfortunately been poor, but you have demonstrated that it is possible.

There were lot of people doing mod 2 in 2014 (I think about 2.5 times the usual) and there was the fear that the pass rate would drop very dramatically; although it did decline somewhat, it actually remained respectable. I think there were a few Distinctions, but not a large number so this really marks you out as having done particularly well.

Glad all your hard work paid off.
As the examiners always say, starting preparation early and in particular plenty of exam question practice pays dividends- I think your result demonstrates this.

The funny thing about luck is that the more effort that is put into being properly prepared, the luckier one tends to be.........

So which modules for 2015?

Dear PJW

Well I realize there is a lot to learn for Mod 1 and 5 which I will take in 2015.

Hope I can make it happen but I don't feel secure at all to pass both.

Perhaps I might focus on only Mod5 which is easier to learn.

Best regards
Arnut

I think that you are right to concentrate on module 5 and perhaps do a bit of study towards mod 1 but leave sitting that paper in 2016.

Hi Peter I like your comments about those who prepare more tend to be luckier, I studied extremely hard for Mod 2 but I still feel lucky to pass with credit :-s

I was at an IRSE event yesterday in Dublin and someone from Irish Rail apparently passed Mod 2 with distinction which is fantastic news.

Also congrats to Arisaku on achieving your distinction.
