Near Miss?
A NM is obviously disappointing; so near yet so far!
However look at it positively; you nearly did it - you must have got some 45% and would only have needed 50% to pass. It would only have taken a very few more marks to have got you over the threshold (I reckon that if a base score is 48 or 49 the examiners really do try to be that little more generous just to tip over the knife edge).
Don't forget that a NM qualifies you to receive some sort of feedback from the IRSE. To be honest it probably won't be a huge help, as all that tends to happen is that you'll get the "grade" separately for each question attempted; if one is a "F" then you don't know whether you got 5% or 40%; simiarly a "P" may be just 50% or something quite a bit better. However the feedback offered last year for module 1 was certainly far more helpful, just don't expect an individual critique of your answer; that is not the examiners job. [However there is nothing to stop you attempting the question afresh and posting it on this website to get some more directed feedback.]
