2016 Exam & results.
#1
Pfew... 2016 paper done (last one for me I hope).

Does anyone have a feel yet, or heard any rumours when the results are to be expected.
There were definitely fewer people at the Birmingham centre so can we hope that the new system has improved the situation?

The examiners have certainly decided that they will not make the December IRSE Council meeting and given that it is early in the month it has been judged inadvisable to attempt to "dot the i's and cross the t's" in time for January.  Hence virtually certain that it would be February for ratification.  I have suggested that actually the IRSE admin could get the letters all ready prepared so that they could just be ready to post (or even email!)  as soon as the Council meeting has accepted- this seems to be a "low risk" strategy given the history that individual results are not queried.  Therefore on this basis, my prediction would be "2nd half of February".

I have also suggested that the date of the Exam Review could be set- since individual results are never discussed then actually it could be held even before results are published.  Probably better that people had received there results but I argue that it could with confidence be set for early March.   I have also pointed out that for 2017 a student will need to be discussing their study plans with their sponsor "in January" and that something needs to be done to align these dates; it seemed to be tacitly accepted that it should all happen "during February"

Well the results were definitely put before and accepted by IRSE Council on Wednesday; I am not party to how and when they will be distributed.  May be worth checking IRSE website in case they are indeed to post a list of successful candidate numbers with modules achieved.  Otherwise I presume it is a question of waiting for the letters to be produced and posted, but the long wait should soon be over.

As far as I know, no firm date yet for the Exam Review but may be towards the end of March.

However if wanting to sit the exam in 2017, you can't afford to wait for that before sitting down to produce your study plan and discuss with your sponsor; the IRSE have placed on the exam page on their website a document explaining the changes for the 2017 exam- in brief you need to be in a position to provide your sponsor with evidence by the end of April that you are likely to be able to pass the exam in October.

Thanks. Now I just have to find my candidate number!

I can only see 2 distinctions on the list this year.

Candidate 9108 should be very proud. D, C, P, D. One of the very few to take four modules.

Indeed.

Although strictly we don't know how many TOOK 4 modules, only those who at least passed them!

If you have another look at the results, they now show membership numbers also, That will help those of us who forgot candidate numbers.
I got a credit in Mod1. That's 4 modules done now.
