Combined pole installation
#1
Hello Signalling Professional:

I wonder does anyone ever seen a railway wayside signalling lamp installed in the same pole with other COM equipments such as CCTV, Wifi Antenna etc ?    I don't personally.

Does it allow a railway wayside signalling lamp installed on the same pole with other communication equipments such as CCTV, Wifi Antenna etc ?  Is there any international standard define about this requirement of installating signalling lamp on the same pole with other equipments?

Thanks

I can't see why this could not occur, but does seem unlikely.
A signal generally has very specific positioning constraints and almost certainly not the optimum position for other equipment. Can certainly see that in a station might be able to use the same mountings in the canopy for station Wi-Fi and an OFF indicator or the like.
What was the reason for your question; do you have a specific case when you would like to adopt such a solution?

Hello PJW:

It's a request from customer that if nearby a wayside signal have other COM equipments (such as cctv, wifi antenna) please evaluate to combine them together into a single pole.  So I am wondering is there a standard or regulation to define such request?

Thanks

Not that I know of!
Obviously you need to try to keep the customer happy, but I suspect it will rarely be possible without unacceptable compromise.  The chances that a signal will be placed somewhere that just happens to be able to give the desired CCTV picture or the level of wi-fi coverage are low; life just isn’t like that!
