Again I shared my old answer with the Study Group, Mr Fenner has added to it in red.
When I studied for the exam I used this table to learn about the key points for a Cab Signalling question. I could literally reproduce the table in 8(?) minutes flat, but I also understood it, so I could draw on the knowledge to answer an essay question. It is apparent when reading that I had systems in mind, these were:
NR lineside signals and TPWS - OSS and TSS;
NR lineside signals, & BR ATP or Level 1 ETCS; &
Level 2 ETCS no overlay on a high speed line.
Of course I would of stated these assumptions to add context to my answers, various of my comments are not valid for Level 2 ETCS no overlay on a slow windy little single line with lots of locally monitorred level crossings.
