Hello Dorothy,

Some garbled notes, most generic comments on competence management.

There are a few acronyms in there which shouldn't be.

Competence is usually time limited and knowledge decreases with time unless being used. We also have periodic assessment to confirm someone's level of knowledge.

Businesses are required to have a management system which should identify those suitable and those not (for whatever reason). As we are talking about safety, we should be able to identify odd/non-preferred behaviour from staff and flag them for assessment.

Could also consider the right number of competent staff being available, not too many trainees/mentored people versus experienced staff. Watching over others can distract people from their task and directly affect safety of the task or personal safety.
